Volunteers Make a Difference at The Salvation Army

Volunteers continue stocking and sorting generous donations of food, clothing and household goods at The Salvation Army Disaster Service Center in Pasadena, TX. Several evacuees arrive daily from 8:30am to 5:00pm to receive basic necessities.

Upon arrival, evacuees are asked to complete an application to register for assistance. Volunteers escort evacuees around the warehouse and help them load a shopping cart full of goods they need. Additional services include Pastoral Counseling, First Aid and a play area for the children.

Karen James of Galveston is one of many who have been volunteering at The Salvation Army Disaster Service Center. “I’ve been volunteering in the play area with the kids while the parents are shopping,” James said. “I consider it an honor to do this and help these people.”

Volunteers are needed from 8:30am to 8:00pm, seven days a week.

To schedule a volunteer time, call 713.752.0677.
